FAQs
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance invites you to move in whatever way feels good for you, free from speech, alcohol, or other substances. There are no set steps—just an invitation to surrender to the rhythm and discover your natural flow. The event is a healing experience that helps release tension, break habitual patterns, and restore balance.
What should I expect during the event?
We create a safe, supportive space where you can express yourself authentically. The journey through music will flow through peaks and moments of stillness, mirroring the natural rhythm of life. You’re free to dance alone or connect with others in whatever way feels right for you—always with consent and respect for personal space.
Can we talk during the dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a non-verbal experience, offering a rare opportunity to move with the music without talking. You’re welcome to catch up with friends once the music has finished.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive no later than the published start time, as it's important for us to begin the experience together. If you do arrive late, kindly be mindful of others and enter quietly.
What shall I bring?
Bring a large water bottle (preferably reusable, as we’re trying to reduce plastic waste!). You may also want to bring a blanket and warm clothes for the final part of the event when we wind down into a relaxed state.
What shall I wear?
Our events are judgment-free spaces, so dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable, whether it’s casual or a bit more expressive. As long as you're comfortable, anything goes! You’re welcome to wear shoes or dance barefoot.
What kind of music can I expect?
Expect a rich blend of genres, from tribal and electronic to ambient and beyond. The music will take you on an ecstatic journey, starting with mellow tunes and moving through a mix of ambient sounds, afro beats, deep house, indie dance, breakbeats, and techno, before winding down with gentle, classical, acoustic or downtempo sounds.
Who is this event for?
Ecstatic Dance is for anyone who feels called to move—regardless of age (14+), background, or experience. Whether you're new to dance or have been moving your whole life, you're welcome here. If you're aged 14–17, please come with an adult.
What about alcohol?
We ask that you refrain from drinking alcohol or taking drugs before or during the event. This space is designed to connect with yourself and others without the distractions of substances.
Will there be any partner dancing?
There won’t be any guided partner dancing or exercises. The dance is a chance to connect with yourself and others through movement without physical contact. Please allow people to move freely without the need for physical interaction.
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds. As a small, independent event, we rely on ticket sales to cover upfront costs such as venue hire and equipment. We appreciate your understanding and support.
